Polish researcher - Dr Magdalena Kuleta-Hulboj - carried out a desk research on the current situation of global education and education for sustainable development in Poland. She examined in particular the analysis of publicly available data on the presence of sustainability and global education in the day-to-day operations of universities.

In the second stage, the research team first identified stakeholders from the academic community the started conducting interviews. The interviewees were lecturers or those in management positions at two universities: The Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (Faculty of Education and Psychology) and the University of Silesia (Faculty of Humanities). The selection of respondents was guided by the criteria of experience in teacher training and by deans or directors for educational affairs.

Establishing research cooperation with the above-mentioned universities created an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between universities and non-governmental organizations.
